Professor Haiqing Lin (SUNY Buffalo) won the AIChE Institute Award for Industrial Gas Separations. Outside of election to the academy, this is about the biggest award someone in the membrane science field could win, certainly anyone working in gas separations using membranes.

M-WET students had a great showing at the North American Membrane Society (NAMS) 2025 Conference in Nashville, TN, with three graduate students placing in the Process, Modeling, and Materials poster categories, and three undergraduates sweeping the Undergraduate poster category!

We are excited to announce that M-WET's External Advisory Board member, Dr. Carl Willis of Kraton, has been selected to be a 2025 POLY Fellow. The POLY Fellows awards recognize excellence in all ways that POLY members advance our field of polymer science, either through scientific accomplishments, service to the profession, or both.

Congratulations to Dr. William E. "Bill" Mickols upon his election today as a member of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) Class of 2025. Dr. Mickols was recognized for "the discovery, development, and implementation of next-generation desalination membranes and related water filtration systems."

R.J. has "been selected as one of the three recipients of the 2025 NAMS Student Fellowship Award. R.J. will receive a check for $500, free registration to the NAMS meeting including a one year NAMS membership, three nights in the conference hotel, and will present in a special NAMS Award Session."

Benny D. Freeman and Joan F. Brennecke win The 2025 Hill Prize in Engineering “for developing advanced, stable and energy-efficient membrane technology to separate olefins (such as ethylene and propylene) from paraffins, a process crucial in many industries including petrochemicals.”

Katherine, mentored by graduate student R. J. Vogler, wins 3rd place in the Undergraduate Student Poster Competition at the 2024 AIChE Annual Meeting.
