Melanie attended The University of Texas at Austin's Cockrell School of Engineering's Graduate and Industry Networking (GAIN) event, presented a research poster, and “had some great talks with the representatives from Dow and Sandia National Labs and even won an award for the top McKetta Department of Chemical Engineering poster!”

The GAIN website states, "Graduate and Industry Networking (GAIN) is an annual flagship event hosted by the Graduate Engineering Council (GEC) at The University of Texas at Austin. This annual networking event provides opportunities to engineering graduate students to network and forge meaningful connections with the industry leaders. GAIN also helps industry recruiters learn more about the outstanding research work performed by our graduate students, recruit potential candidates, and foster industry-academia collaboration."
