Daniel’s unique upbringing in Laredo, Texas has inspired him to pursue higher education and to encourage under-represented students to do the same. Growing up in a predominantly Spanish-speaking town on the Mexican border, he experienced a distinct multicultural environment that shaped all aspects of his life and gave him a unique identity and perspective. As a child, he frequently crossed the border between the US and Mexico and witnessed the blending of two cultures that was both beautiful and complex. This upbringing instilled in him the belief that people can be proud of their heritage while also embracing new opportunities.
